This Vihuela model is a reduction of my big model, as it is really necessary to have a smaller string length than 6) cm for a lot of music written for the vihuela. This size of vihuela may have a string length between 56 to 60 cm.

This vihuela model will have the following features:

• The sides made out of maple, cherry or cypress wood
• the back will have 5 pieces from the same wood of the sides. It is made in the same way as baroque guitars will be done. The material may be really thin and no bars are necessary.
• Soundboard made out of fine european spruce, having only one rose from parchment, inlay around the edge to give a good protection
• The neck is made out of maple.
• The fretboard is made from box- or plumwood.
• The string length is 56 - 60 cm.
• The pegbox is made out of maple.
• For the pegs I use plum wood, a very good wood for this purpose or boxwood.
• The mould is varnished with french polishing
