Naseer Shamma Aoud

This is the model that is actually played by Naseer Shamma and most of his students. The strings are fastened at the end of the body and the bridge is not glued to the soundboard. This makes necessary a higher string tension but this causes much more tone and volume to this model.

This model will have the following features:

  • Top made out of fine european spruce, having three open soundholes and a rosewood inlay around the edge to give a good protection
  • the neck is made out of a light wood to make the instrument not heavy and then veneered with rosewood
  • The fretboard is made out of brazilian rosewood or ebony and is slightly overlapping the top
  • The pegbox is made out of beech and veneered with rosewood
  • For the pegs I use plum wood, a very good wood for this purpose
  • The mould is varnished with a sligthly or high polished synthetic varnish.

For this model there are available well fitting cases in different designs.
