This 1. Egypt International Oud Forum in Cairo, organized by Naseer Shamma personally in context with his oud shool Beit
Al Oud has been a phantastic event over 4 days in the new opera of Cairo.
A lot of phantastic Players, well known musicologists from the whole arabic area fom Turkey to Tunisia has been invited.
A lot of excellent concerts took place, beginning at the first evening with the oud hous of ensemble directed by Naseer Shamma
concerts with established oud players and also a lot of concerts ( solo or in groups ) with young players, upcomming professionals.
Amongst them the young egyptian Player Mohammed Abozekry, 1st winner ofe the 2009 Damascus oud competition.
Furthermore workshops for playing different oud styles, discussions about music and music theorie have been hold, and furthermore
a seminar about the design and sizes of the oud in future has been held with my participation.
